Phew.  It's Christmas Eve.  We made it*!

The presents are wrapped. The pudding is made. The ham is in the fridge. The family are on their way.

Yesterday, the girls ticked off a few jobs I'd left to the last minute.  We visited Australia Zoo for their annual Santa photo.Santa photo alligator 2014Looking back on photos from previous years, our girls are growing faster than the alligator.

My sister-in-laws, the sobriety thieves, arrived last night in time to help the girls make reindeer food.

    ingredients:

    • currants (or any dried fruit you have leftover from Christmas baking)
    • rolled oats
    • glitter

    method:

Combine the ingredients in a bowl.  Make a Christmas wish while stirring vigorously.  how to make reindeer food

Tonight we'll spread this reindeer food on the grass where we want to Santa to land his sleigh.  The glitter will reflect in the moonlight and guide Rudolph to our suggested landing spot.  The Big Sister has committed a lot of thought to selecting the best parking for Santa this year - a combination of easy take off and landing and convenient access to the front door (our chimney is too skinny for Santa).

Wishing you all the wonder, hope and joy that the season brings.

*Whoops. Did I say we'd made it? We're yet to tick-off the nocturnal construction a trampoline!

A merry and safe Christmas to all my lovely readers,  Amanda xx
