    feeling lucky

Today is the Little Sister's third birthday.  Both the girls are spending the day with the Little Sister’s day care mother.  The Big Sister will be assisting (and I’m using that term very loosely) throw a little party for the Little Sister and her mates.

They will play pin the tail on the elephant and eat the fish cakes that I was up before dawn icing. I should clarify that these are cupcakes made to look like fish, not cakes made out of fish.  There was a little confusion when I spoke to my brother Ant this morning, and he accused me of trying to get the Little Sister beaten up.

It’s been a big few months for our little family - not all of it happy.  So it's apt that on the Little Sister's birthday, Kidspot have published an article I wrote about the girls catching whooping cough and how lucky there were to be fully immunised.  You can read the article here.

I, of course, am the luckiest one: having emerged on the other side, with our two beautiful girls improving daily.  I'm counting my blessings, and feeling grateful to be watching the Little Sister lick the mixing bowl and springing her stealing tastes of icing.  Lucky she's the birthday girl!10508051_1443774909232884_893544412_n

    are you feeling lucky?
    well, are ya, punk?
