school mornings

This post is brought to you by Volvo’s XC60

When the siren goes at three this afternoon, school holidays will kick off for our little family. I’m thrilled at the prospect of a few slow days.  Mornings have been bonkers here lately. The sun rising later combined with the kids being tired from a long term at school has made us perpetually late.

If our mornings this week were one of the Big Sister’s school readers it would go like this.

I’m almost finished my term as a brand ambassador for Volvo. I’ve been driving their XC60 for three weeks now and I’m going to find it hard to part with next week. The Volvosaurus (a nickname the car earned on instagram) has a bunch of features that leave our car for dead.

The Little Sister can get into her built-in booster seat without me having to lift her, which is doing wonders for my back.

The automatic tailgate means that the Big Sister can get her school bag out of the boot without my help, shaving precious minutes off our school morning, which is doing wonders for my happiness levels.

It is also getting ridiculous fuel economy, which is doing wonders for my credit card.

We’ll make the most of our last week now that school holidays have arrived – after we stay in our PJs til 10am!

what are school mornings like at your place?

love or loathe the school holidays?

If you’re in the later category you might find this free school holiday rules printable handy!

PS. Don’t worry Volvo, I promise to give your lovely car a good clean before I bring it back!

So fab! I love your reader and it was VERY well read.

I think the Volvo has come into its own. It used to be such a grandad car, but now I kinda want one. x

We had to record it a few times Em, we recorded one version where she really impersonated me. The Big Sister couldn’t finish reading for laughing!

    Very cute ๐Ÿ™‚

My two are still in preschool so we’re not up to school holidays yet. But I definitely understand the feeling of being perpetually late!! Most mornings are like an episode of Benny Hill at my place, but instead of chasing naked ladies around trees I’m chasing naked toddlers around the kitchen ๐Ÿ˜‰

I bet you’ll miss that car, looks very schmick.

Esther and I loved this. I’ve been late getting Esther to Kindy the last couple of weeks. The holidays will be good to have slower mornings. x

Hahaha! Too cute! I’m going to show this one to the boys as they will relate! I love Volvos. My family and I have great memories driving them during the early years of moving to Australia. Such durable and comfortable cars.

It’s so comfortable Grace. I’ve never driven a new car before, so this has been a real treat!

I can relate to the school holiday thoughts not because I have to get primary school age children off to school but because I”m a teacher. My children are older. One in year nine and one at university so the mornings aren’t that busy any more. I will really enjoy the sleep in tomorrow and having a second cup of coffee. Roll on holidays.
