Food Glorious Food: a place for home cooks to hang out.

By some enigma of reproduction that I don’t like to think about, our family celebrate five birthdays in the eighteen days between Boxing Day and 13 January.

We start every year with a bang: copious champagne and a cornucopia of cake, lots of living large and too many trips to Brisbane.

Now it’s over, it’s time to start going to bed at a reasonable hour and to sleep in our own beds for extended periods.  We’ll be eating in and Mummy will be swapping carrots for cake.*

Last night I asked the folks who follow me on Facebook if they use Pinterest.  Hands up! Do you use Pinterest?

The response was overwhelming – loads of them do.  For those of you who haven’t yet been bitten by the Pinterest bug, it’s like a virtual pin board.  Remember when you collected recipes by clipping them out of magazines and filing them in a expander file?  Pinterest is like that, without the news print transfer.

There was a reason I was asking.  My friend Rachel, the genius behind Our Town Brisbane, had a great idea: why not start a communal Pinterest board where members of the Cooker and a Looker community could share recipes, tips and inspiration?

And because she’s a genius, I’ve done just that.

Follow Cooker and a Looker’s board Food glorious food: recipes for home cooks on Pinterest.

My hope is that this board becomes a place where we can find is-it-dinner-time-already? inspiration and baking tips, share favourite recipes and seek advice.  A spot on the internet where home cooks can hang out and lust over kitchen gadgets.

If you’d like to be part of our board, please send me an email with a link to your Pinterest profile and I’ll add you.

 * Fancy carrots, mind you!  I bought myself a Benriner at the new year sales and now I can’t stop turning vegetables into twirls!

Lol Amanda you are far too kind! I had an ulterior motive though – my cooking mojo is in serious need of a reboot so I would LOVE a one stop shop of recipes I could turn to when everyone is complaining because we’ve had spag bol three nights in a row!

I’m very haphazard in the Pinterest department. I try not to go there too often because once I do, I fall down a rabbit hole of all things delicious. Sign me up, Scottie! Sounds awesome!
