Day 14 of Distanced Ed

We slept late and I helped Bearhands hurry out the door. No time to slip into something formal to take the bins up – maybe next week?

Another fish death – this time the female of the cichlid pair. Given that they’ve been isolated from the rest of their species for several weeks, just the two of them, I surmised that the male had sex-pestered her to death. No evidence of this, of course, purely speculation based on current events.

Bearhands has a quote to five at Tesch Road Witta – I’d never been there but it’s named for Aunty Marg and Uncle Ron’s family – so we put the kids in the car and went for a drive. (We sat in the car while Bearhands measured up, while the Little Sister read us and reread us the story she is writing by tediously tiny increments).

Stopped at Bearhands’ favourite shop the Purple Palate on the way home. Again, he went inside and I stayed in the car with the kids. This time one of our darlings let rip with a fart a cabbage farmer would be proud of. Of course no one was responsible.

Bearhands shouted us seriously good pies for lunch at the Maleny bakery.

Spent the afternoon at home. Bearhands did more work, then bought groceries. (I swear chicos, chocolate milk and cocoa pops weren’t on the list! 😉)

Did a snake consult for my Sister-in-law who found one hiding under her boot and strongly recommends “not typing in ‘striped snake south east qld’ into google. Its like google doctoring. The answer is always going to be something terrible.”

In the evening we had a fire to clean up some of the rubbish we’ve cleaned out of the garden. Steak and sausages for dinner with corn, sweet potato chips and sautéed zucchini – nothing 🍍scented!

Sampled Bearhands’ purchase – Dead Man’s Fingers Coffee Rum is THE best thing I’ve put in my gob this year! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (For those of you wondering, rum is definitely an essential!)
