chasing brumbies

I spoke to my brother Anthony this morning.

He’s performing in a show at the EKKA and I asked how it was going. He said he’s enjoying it. The role he’s playing is fun “and I get to chase brumbies and do the things I like.”

He asked what I was up to and I told him the final files for the cookbook are due to the printer on Friday. He remarked that it must be exciting and I told him that it’s an 50:50 mix of terrifying and exciting.

“The best things are.” he said.

“Like chasing brumbies?” I asked

“Nah, like having children.”

I don’t remember being this anxious about being a parent, I think I knew we’d love the end result. Making something that will go into other people’s homes is different and feels much less certain.

I guess chasing brumbies only comes naturally to some.

The cookbook will be available in time for Christmas.

Pre-orders will start in September.

What a huge week! I do hope to meet this mysterious brother one day – he sounds like a good egg 🙂

Great to hear about the cookbook. Go you. I would LOVE to hear more about your brother and about brumbies and to see some photos please. I’m a country girl at heart but often live vicariously through others.
