Australia Day Party

G’day!  This post is a little different than normal: in preparation for Australia Day, I’ve invited a bunch of blogger mates around for a party.  They’ll be sharing a post from their blog that fits our Australian theme.  I hope you enjoy their offerings.

I’ve been cooking up a little something too – the very first Cooker and a Looker ebook!  Too excited to wait?  You can download it here – How to Host an Aussie Barbeque eBook – Cooker and a Looker

I’ll be spending Australia Day rocking out to Keith Urban with Erin and Rach (the sobriety thieves) and my hot date for the night – Nathan, the Zucchini Farmers’ son.  Then backing up for an Aussie BBQ complete with thong throwing comp on Sunday afternoon.

how will you celebrate Australia Day?

Bloggers:

Please link up one original post that is Australian in theme – I’m happy for a broad interpretation here!

The link will be live until January 31 – for those who want to let us know what they got up to on the Australia Day weekend.

If you’re feeling generous, add a link back to Cooker and a Looker from your post.

Thanks for joining in!

Happy Australia Day – have a great weekend!

We’ll be heading to the Lake Foreshore for Aussie Day breakfast celebrations, home for a BBQ lunch, then to the beach to watch the fireworks. Have a good one! x

    Hi Amanda,

The ebook is fabulous. Hilarious and very Aussie. And isn’t there always a ‘Keith’!

I am also off to see Keith Urban, but on Sunday night, really looking forward to it. I have to work on Australia Day but will be sure to lift a glass to our great country when I get home.

I thoroughly enjoy your blog and look forward to each new addition. Keep up the good work.

Happy Australia Day to you and all your family.

According to the weather man it is going to rain all weekend so our plans of heading to the beach have all been quashed. So I have no idea what we are going to be doing.

Rain is forecast here too Tegan. If I’d known all it took to make it rain was organising an outdoor BBQ, I would have done it months ago!

My friend will be joining you at Keith’s place on Saturday! My hubby isn’t working so we’re hoping to have BBQ with friends, lamb chops of course! Although it is supposed to rain but we desperately need it! Have a great weekend! Emily

I don’t think we’ll be doing much at all for Australia Day – possibly reading Australian themed blog posts if I get a chance! Have a great weekend 🙂

That is you in Grace’s comp right? No 4?? ;o)

    A great link up idea.

Aussie Day coincides with a family birthday, so we BBQ and drink with friends and family.

This year there is a pool so double the fun.

Arrived at your blog today via ‘the power of 4’ philosophy #FYBF

Love the power of 4 – I always find a great new blog! I just finished reading your post about shoplifting. Trying to get my thoughts together so my comment comes across the way it’s intended!

I love Australia Day! This year, my partner’s band is playing a backyard gig at the singers house. Should be a fun afternoon with friends and kids, slip n slides, thongs and the yearly Rissole Cook Off 🙂

Thanks for linking that gorgeous sun suit – you really are so clever. We’re having a rissole-fest on Sunday, along with some lamb and vegemite sausages I found at the local butcher.
      Have a great weekend!

Thanks Grace – it’s finally raining here, so the thong throwing may become gumboot throwing. Not complaining though – the farm desperately needs it. I hope you guys have a great weekend too. x

It’s raining here too, but we’re so grateful that the dam is filling it won’t dampen our weekend. (*boomtish!*)

The weather is utterly crap so we will not be doing our usual BBQ/Beach/All Things Aussie, instead we will be taking a sick 4 year old to the Dr and then leaving hiim with Nanna so we can spend the night in Brisbane and go to see Keith Urban!!

I’m headed to Keith tonight too. A friend told me to pack my boots though – there was ankle deep water in the carpark last night! It’ll take more than ex-cyclone Oswald to keep me from Keith though!
